Benefits of being a vegetarian

You guys know that I'm a vegetarian. So do many of the people I know. And it's REALLY starting to annoy me how much people get on my case for it. I don't preach to you about what you eat, so why do you feel the need to do it to me? I don't care if you eat meat. I'm not going to judge you on it. So I don't expect you to judge me for MY decision. The decision that DOES NOT affect YOU in any way, shape, or form. But since people don't really care about how it makes me feel when they judge me, I'm going to make a post about why it's good to be a vegetarian. And don't flame me in the comments. My opinion is not going to change just because there are some people in this world who don't agree with me.

benefits of being a vegetarian-
1- I have a lower risk of any lung or heart related diseases
2- I have a lower risk of type 2 diabetes
3- Since I cut out a lot of oils and fats out of my diet, my skin is a lot healthier
4- I'm eating chemically free food
5- Hormone free food
6- I have an increased life span
7- I have a lower chance of getting some cancers
8- Reduced risk of food-borne illnesses
9- I'm helping to reduce pollution
10- and (my favorite)- I can proudly say I'm am NOT supporting animal abuse or torture.

One argument that I get A LOT is 'Just because you're not eating meat, doesn't mean that they're going to stop killing them.'

Yeah, I'm not stupid.

I'm not a vegetarian because I'm protesting animal slaughter; I'm a vegetarian because I don't agree/support animal abuse/torture. To me, when you don't support something, you don't take ANY part of it. I don't support animal cruelty. So I'm not going to support it by eating meat products. And again, if you eat meat, WHO CARES?! I don't! All of my friends and most of my family eat meat. I don't judge people on that. If you eat meat, great. Let's go out to lunch anyways! I. Don't. Care. But if you're going to get in my face about it, it's not going to make me want to change my decision. The only thing it's going to make me want to do, is not hang out with you.
