Confliction

So tonight I'm gonna post two post because a) I seriously need to vent and b) I've been working on this one post for almost a month now but I'll start with this one.

So the thing is, is that there's this guy. Back in seventh grade I had a huge crush on him and lately he's been flirting with me, telling me how much he cares about me, making excuses to touch my hair or hold my hand, several times he's pushed my hair behind my ears, he's asked me to eat lunch with him, telling me how pretty I am. And too be honest, I like it. He's so open with me like there are no boundaries and asking me questions because he wants my point of view on things. And I still like that senior, but lately he hasn't really done anything. I've been around him for a few months now and he hasn't made a move, while in the span of two days this other guy who's in my grade has done so much for me. I really wish the senior would realize that I'm am totally approachable. That's why I have so many friends. So I came to a conclusion- if the guy in my grade asks me out, I'll take him up on it. But if the senior asks me out first, than I'll take him up on it. I wish I didn't have to choose.

HAHA! Can I get a 'Hell yeah'?!

Banana milkshake!

I apologize if you thought this was going to be some recipe for a banana flavored milkshake. Cuz it's not. I mean, you could drink it, but it's main purpose is for your hair!
Here's what ya need- '

• three bananas (more or less depending on hair length. My hair is a few inches past my shoulders)
• coconut oil (or whole milk. Honestly, it doesn't matter)
• Honey (optional. Add it if you want extra moisture)
• a bowl
• towel
• claw clips
• a spoon
• gloves (optional. I'd use them if you plan to drink the rest of your banana milkshake, but I don't drink it so....)

what you need to do-

• mash your bananas in a bowl
• add coconut oil (or milk) until it's the same consistency of conditioner
• add about two tablespoons of honey. It doesn't have to be exact. I just eye-ball it.
• this part is also totally optional. You can heat up the mixture for 20-30 minutes on high and let it cool until it's warm but not too hot or too cold. If it's warm, it'll get into the hair shafts easier and repair better
• apply to hair (while wearing a shirt you don't really care about) while standing in a shower or with your head over the sink
• twist hair back with a claw clip and wrap a towel around your hair
• leave in for about an hour
• wash out regularly

So there you guys go! Hope it works out for you!

home facial

This stuff is fricken awesome-

What you need-

• One bowl
• plain vanilla yogurt
• honey
• lemon
• something to stir with
• a teaspoon

What you need to do-

• take two spoonfuls of yogurt (Greek yogurt works best, but really, any kind will work) Yogurt helps reduce redness
• add 1-2 drops of lemon. The lemon will help brighten your skin, but be careful because it is acidic so it could cause irritation
• add one teaspoon of honey
• mix together well
• apply to face and leave for thirty minutes
• wash off with warm water
• do this mask once a week

This stuff is just so awesome! It's an anti oil, acne, and redness facial that also cleanses pores and makes your skin smell pretty awesome :) I usually follow with an ice facial to minimize my pores and a toning facial moisturizer. Make sure you wash your face before you apply the facial. If you guys wanna follow with an ice facial here's how you do it-

1. sit with a cup of ice and a towel
2. rub ice where your pores are largest (mine are on my nose)
3. pat dry and follow with a moisturizer

So I haven't really been active lately because I've been so busy with finals and studying that I haven't had time to make anything new. So I'll just upload this post that I've been working on for awhile (That's actually pretty much what happens when I don't have time to make a new post. I just upload one that's been done for awhile but hasn't been uploaded yet)
So here's this post that has just been sitting here for awhile now-

Moisturizers and your skin-

Dry-  look for a heavier, oil-based moisturizer. Look for these ingredients- urea, or propylene gel

Normal- (me! except for my discoloration :p) look for water based moisturizers with light weight oils. Look for these ingredients- acetyl alcohol or silicon-based ingredients

Oily and combined skin- look for oil free and water based. Use moisturizers 'sparingly'.

sensitive skin- any moisturizers without fragrance or dyes and is designed for this skin type (it'll usually say on the bottle 'for sensitive skin')

Extra dry and mature skin- nourishing oils, dense creams, and balms. Look for petrolatum based. Look for these ingredients- lactic acids (found in milk!:) ) alpha hydroxy acids


If you're not sure what your skin types is, use this to help you-

Normal skin-

• comfortable feeling
• smooth, even textures with small pores (working on the small pores thing :p)
• Cheeks are the driest area, but not extremely dry
• may have shine and/or larger pores on the forehead, nose, or chin. I have HUGE pores on my nose :'(
• water and oil content is balanced

dry to extra dry-

• feels tight after washing
• may look dry or flaky
• feels rough and uneven
• pores are small and hard to see (lucky :p)
• shows fine lines faster than other skin types

Oily skin-

• shiny especially through the t-zone
• may have large visible pores
• frequent break outs

sensitive skin-

• can range from dry to oily
• Easily irritated by cosmetics, moisturizers, and cleansers
• sensitive and prone to redness
• itchy and/or blotchy

tips!

• use a fast-absorbing eye cream under your concealer
• look for moisturizers with ingredients like; petrolatum, glycerin, or shea butter if your skin is very dry and dehydrated
• Layer different textures of moisturizers (balm, cream, oils, etc. etc.)
• look for oil controlling lotion if you have oily skin
• (I personally don't use this one)- dab or pat on some moisturizing balm onto your cheeks after you've applied your makeup
• you can mix your face lotion with your foundation to make a tinted moisturizer

so later when I have the time I'll make a 'special skin conditions' guide and what you can do for your skin condition. And thanks to Bobbi Brown (Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual) for supplying me with all these awesome tips!

My favorite tips for healthy hair!

On YouTube, there's this girl named Cassandra Bankson and she is FRICKIN AMAZING! She does a ton of tip and tutorial videos that are great! She does a lot of makeup tutorials but also talks about acne and things you can do for it, and how to take care of your hair and nails. She recently inspired me to make this next post about hair! These are all tips from her, but these are my personal favorites. I'll post a link somewhere to the video that I got these tips from so that you can see what other tips she has.

1. Massage oils into damp hair. In the video, Cassandra uses peppermint oil (you probably have some in you cupboard. I know I do.) She also says you can use Eucalyptus oil, or cinnamon oil. I like to use Moroccan oil. When you massage the oils into your hair, it stimulates blood flow to the scalp, which in turn stimulates hair growth.
2. Add more protein to your diet! I'm guessing many of you know that your hair and nails are dead. That's why it doesn't hurt when you cut them. (unless you end up ripping up your nail beds or if you get a hang nail) And many of you also know that your hair and nails are made up of dead keratin (which is dead protein.) So if you eat lots of protein and you get excess protein, your bodies natural instinct is to turn the protein into hair and push it out of your scalp.
3. Wash your hair with a sulfate free shampoo. I already do this since I dye my hair often and the sulfate could make my hair fall out.
4.  before you style your hair, use a heat protectant! Again, it's great for color treated hair since it's so sensitive. Heat is one of the worst things you could do to your hair, but at least heat protectant will help out with that!
5. Before you get out of the shower, rinse your hair with cold water. Cassandra goes into more detail as to why.

I strongly recommend this chick. Her videos are pretty much what I'm trying to turn my blog into. If I had a YouTube account (I'm thinking about getting one) I'd subscribe to her in a heart beat. Hopefully she can supply you guys with all the tips and tutorials that you need :)

Hair care products - winter edition

The kind of products I put in my hair vary on the time of year, or more accurately, the weather. So I'll update this as the weather changes and my hairs' physical state also changes. Most of these products you can buy at places like Wal-Mart or Target.

Shampoo and Conditioner-
Because I dye my hair so often, my hair is really sensitive and I can't use a lot of different hair care products just because it could all fall out. So if you have color treated hair, I'd recommend this stuff because it's just amazing! After using it for one week my hair was softer and shinier.  Also when I bleach my hair, it dies and gets really frizzy, but after about two weeks of using this stuff, my hair relaxed and began to smooth out. The only down side is that it's VERY expensive. About $53 a bottle. It's called Blondeshell Keratin Complex. I'm not really sure where you can buy it, but I get mine at my local salon.

Dry shampoos- My dry shampoos vary on what I decided to do with my hair--
straight hair- Tresemme fresh start for straight/normal hair
curly- Tresemme fresh start for dry/curly to normal hair

Hair spray-Pantene Pro-V lasting volume/maximum hold or Aussie Aussome Volume maximum hold

Mousse- My mousses vary on what I decide to do with my hair-
straight hair-Nexus Mousse plus alcohol free volumizing foam styler
curly- Tresemme curl care flawless curls extra hold

Heat protectant- As mentioned earlier, my hair is really sensitive, so heat could literally make or break my hair. I use A TON  of heat protectant so that my hair doesn't fall out in handfuls. My favorite is Heat Protection Spray by Tresemme.

supplements-  Daily, I take three of these collagen support pills that are supposed to help your hair skin and nails stay strong and healthy. It's called Hair, Skin, and Nails (I know. Genius, right? ;D) and you can get it at just about any drugstore, or a place with a pharmacy. I get mine at Wal-Mart. Like I said, I take three daily with meals. You guys know that weird thing that people use to soften meat, usually streak? These pills are so big that I used to have to use that to smash them up and mix it with yogurt or apple sauce...... :)

Things that I 'strongly dislike'

• Girls that think that a guy who looks at them for more than 2 seconds has a thing for them. (cough cough Emilyfromband cough) Trust me, honey. It's most likely because you seriously need to brush your hair and put on some clean clothes.
• Girls who think that every guy they meet has a thing for them.
• Girls who think they're always right (again, Emily....)
• When guys don't hike up their skirts and make the first move. Seriously guys; put on your big girl panties and deal ;)
• guys who are EMOTIONLESS!!!! Smile, dammit. ;)

Anyways so I haven't talked about this guy in awhile :) In a previous post, I mentioned about how when my friend Emily (from band and mentioned twice above) got over the same guy and how I had to figure out if I really liked him on my own terms. And I do :)  So there's that update....


Other stuff-

Still trying to think of something fun to do after finals. Since I don't have school that Friday, maybe I could go shopping with one of my friends. Or I could just hang out with one of my friends at my place. I don't know yet :(

In science, we're learning how to combine elements and how to write their names. And my teacher told us about this HUGE controversy about dihydrogen monoxide. Before you guys read the link I'll post soon, dihydrogen monoxide is water. It's actually really easy to figure that out. The elements in water form a covalent bond instead of an ionic bond. An ionic bond is a bond that involves some sort of metal. A covalent bond is a bond that doesn't involve a metal. In an ionic bond, if there are more than one of the same element you don't have to use prefixes to say how many of that element is in the compound. But in a covalent bond, you DO have to use prefixes to say how many of that element is in the compound. (examples of prefixes: mono=one, di=two, tri=three, tetra= four, etc, ect,) so the di in dihydrogen means that there's two hydrogens. The mono in monoxide means that there's one oxide which is oxygen. In other words H2O. But this website isn't straight up with what they're talking about. guy evaluation

I have a confession! Last year (and a little bit of this year) I had a huge crush on this guy in my class, who moved here last year. Have you ever liked someone so much that in your eyes, they can do no wrong? That's pretty much what I was like. I knew that he did drugs, and that he slept around, and that he didn't care about school, but I was obviously pretttttttty stupid. And all of my friends saw it but none of them wanted to ruin it for me. And than there were the friends who didn't want to see me get hurt and tried to tell me to just let it go and that I can do better but I didn't believe them. That's a major 'facepalm' moment. So I guess what I'm trying to get across to you guys is that you really need to evaluate the guys/girls you crush on. I came up with a pretty awesome method! Just ask yourself, "Would I be comfortable with leaving my children with them?" and that'll usually tell you if they're worth it or not! try it :) I just wish I was smart enough to realize this last year so I wouldn't have wasted thirteen months of my life crushing on this guy.

Finals week

So finals week is coming up AND I'M FREAKING OUT! Seriously you guys, I've hit panic mode and beyond. Not to mention stress. Nothing good happens when I get stressed. I break out, zone out often, and people get bitched at. I mean, my grades are FINE and I test pretty well, but the pressure to do well is suffocating. Doing finals week eight times is gonna suck. Actually, it'll be sixteen times since I've got college to look forward to after that. And what really sucks, is that during finals week, we'll be running on block schedule. For those of you who haven't run on block schedule, it sucks. Block was (we don't do it anymore, thank you Jesus) every Wednesday and Thursday. On Wednesday we had all our odd number classes and Thursday our even number classes. For example; on Wednesday I have 1st hour Science than 3rd hour algebra, 5th hour band, and 7th hour intro to art. Than Thursday I have 2nd hour english, 4th hour spanish, 6th P.E., than 8th hour history. So since we only have half of our classes, the classes are twice as long. The only good thing about this is the 10 minute passing time. But anyways, our finals are on the 22nd/23rd and like I said, they run on block schedule. So the day I take my Science finals (first thing in the damn morning) I have to take my Algebra finals immediatly after. Pray for me.

But you know what? I gotta plan :) (honestly, when don't I?) If your getting ready to take your finals, or if you have a big test coming up, feel free to use it--

• I'm gonna cut out the 45 minutes it takes me to get ready for school by not wearing makeup and just putting my hair in a bun. This will also help with the break out situation. And give me 45 minutes of extra and much needed sleep.
• I'm gonna leave the heels at home (I know. Shocker, right?) and instead I'll just wear a pair of sweatpants.
• I'm gonna think of something really fun to do at the end of finals week so I have something to look forward to
• I'm gonna convince my mother to make me a smoothie for breakfast. (if you can't convince them, confuse them.)
• I'm gonna buy my self a new nail polish color to wear on finals day to help remind myself to stay confident and own that test!
• study dates with whoevers down!!!
• study in small, short, evenly spaced sessions instead of cramming
• turing off my cell phone so I'm not too distraced.
• Music. Lots and lots of music.
• I just won't even talk to my siblings cause it's bad enough when one of them pisses me off on a regular day.

Excitment!!!

So this weekend, my plan was to stay home all weekend and just hang out and regroup from vacation. BUT, that was before my gym teacher gave us an assignment to choreograph a dance that we would later teach to the class. That is the scariest thing you can say to a klutz like me. So I ended up spending the entire weekend at my friends house working on the dance with her and our other friend/partner. I got home today at about two in the afternoon, and my plan was to go home, sleep for a few hours, wake up and do my homework, get ready for school the next day, and go back to bed.  But my grandma came over and gave me the most amazing news! For those of you who don't know, my family is from Massachusetts, and I still have some family who live out there. Every summer my grandma goes out there to visit the family who are out there but I have to stay home every time because my mom needs me to babysit. But now my oldest-younger sister, Zoey, is old enough to stay home and take care of my other younger siblings. So today my grandma bought me a plane ticket to go out to Massachusetts with her and my artist aunt. I CANNOT wait to go out and see the family that I have out there :) I can't wait to surf, shop, and just chill out with the fam.
Random thing- No one believes me when I tell them that my family is from Massachusetts, since we're so 'polite' and 'sweet'. It's actually kinda funny because my aunt (the FBI) brought her boyfriend home with her for Christmas and he (his names Peter), my aunt, and I went out for coffee. While my aunt was in the bathroom, Peter and I ordered our coffee and the berista was super sweet. Peter and I went to go sit by the fireplace (btw, we were at the Caribou Coffee in Menominee by the movie theatre) and he whispered to me "The berista was really nice. Was that a joke?" I just smiled. Silly Peter. He'll learn. :) Anyways, I can't wait to go back out to Massachusetts. I haven't gone surfing in FOREVER!!!

Eye's (smoky)

lashes-

• curl your lashes three times; once as close to the lash line as possible, once in the middle, and once on the very end. When you curl them, hold for ten seconds, than pump the curler five times.
• The first coat of mascara is the most important. When you apply it, try to the majority of the product towards the bottom of your lashes. When bringing the wand to the tip of your lashes, bring it back and forth in a zig- zag motion
• Let it sit until it's tacky.
• using a different mascara than the first one, apply a second and third coat, in zig-zag motions.
• let it sit until it's completely dry
• curl once; holding it for five seconds and than pumping it three times

eye shadow-

• apply a thin coat of primer all over the eyelid.
• blend in with fingertips, than let it dry
• apply a light eye shadow color to the inner corner of your eye, and under you lashes.
• blend a mid-toned eye shadow from lash line to crease
• apply a deep eye shadow to the outer 1/3 of your eyelid
• blend all colors with fingertips if needed

eyeliner-

• apply eyeliner to your bottom lid, getting in the water line and lash line
• smudge eyeliner with a smudge brush
• set in with an eye shadow that matches your eyeliner
• (wing) start from the inner 1/3 of your eye
• gradually widen the line as you go, filling it in, and getting it to the lash line.
• drag it out past your eye, lifting it into a gentle curve
• shape the end to a point

Everything (except my eyes) makeup routine

1. Make sure your hands and nails are clean before touching your face or any products
2. Cleanse face (understand your skin type before you buy a cleanser. If you have sensitive skin, avoid anything with sulfuric acid. Anything with honey or avocado listed as an ingredient is good)
3. Use a dime size amount of moisturizer. Every skin type (even oily) will benefit from moisturizer. Again, know your skin type.
4. Dab a small amount of foundation on the back of your hand. (when you buy foundation, have one of the makeup consultants match your skin tone with the foundation) Warm it up to body temp with your finger
5. With your fingertip, add some corn starch. (this will help set in your foundation and keep things like oil and sweat from melting it away)
6. pick it up with a brush and apply everywhere
7. Carry it down your neck to avoid making a makeup line
8. use a blemish stick for extra coverage on a blemish
9. add a small amount of foundation to your lips. (I don't use this one all the time, just when I plan on wearing lipstick) 
10. Set in with a pressed powder
11. Using a brush, apply (a light) bronzer to places where the sun will naturally touch your face. (The bone above your temples, cheekbones, chin, t-zone)
12. Use a narrow brush to apply blush. Smile, and apply to the apples of your cheeks.
13. blend with fingertips to make it less harsh
14. Suck in your cheeks, and apply blush to your cheekbones (this area should have the most product)

Under eyes-

1. Use a small brush to apply corrector starting from the inner corner of your eye, and carrying it out and down to where there is darkness
2. gently blend by pressing fingertips
3. apply conceal under your eye, starting at the innermost corner
4. cover the entire area, getting right under your lashes
5. set in place with powder (using an eye shadow brush)

Lips-

1. Take your tooth brush, put a small amount of petroleum jelly (i.e.- Vaseline) to the brush and gently brush it onto your lips for a minute
2. apply chap stick as needed
3.  After you choose your color, apply with a brush, or straight from the tube
4. began at one corner and carry it over, keeping the layer even
5. keep it with in the natural lines of your lips
6. make sure you get into the corners of your lips
7. pick a lip pencil that matches your lipstick
8. beginning lining on the top lip and extend down to the other corner
9. carry it down to the bottom lip
10. fill in any missed areas and blend

Yesterday :)

Yesterday was probably one of the best days of my break (even though I had to get up at seven thirty :p)
So I went shopping with my friend Emily in Woodbury and it was pretty awesome! Even the weather wasn't too bad (for December anyways) and every place we went to had a huge sale :) Than later I went to my friend Kayla's house with my other friends, C'aira and Lindsey, for a New Years Eve party. (If you knew these people you'd understand how crazy it could probably get) but it was actually pretty tame. We watched Pitch Perfect, Insidious, Jeff Dunham: Minding the Monsters, and Stardust (I didn't really pay attention to Stardust.) Insidious scared me so much you guys. Damn, I hate horror movies (but I'll sit through them if one of the main characters is really hot ;)) It was one of those movies where it's like 'boring, boring, boring, SCARY AS HELL, boring, boring, boring, SCARY AS HELL, boring, boring, SCARY AS HELL, stupid twist, the end.' I hate those kinda movies.  But if you have seen insidious, who else saw that twist coming? Even though I saw it coming, it still scared me to the point of hiding behind my hair. Oh, and that other chick with the shotgun. That was the creepiest smile. ever. I didn't get that part, though.  Who the hell were those people? And was the one with the iron a cross-dresser? I guess I'll never really know. But while I'm on this topic, I might as well tell you guys what else I'm afraid off-
