straight hair tutorial

Sorry about the delay for the tutorial. I didn’t have time to make it at my house on my own time, and I wasn’t able to make one during school.  Anyways here we go!!!!

So start by taking a shower. I like to use TiGi shampoo and conditioner for when I like to straighten my hair. I don’t remember what the exact name was, but it’ll say “straightening” on it.
When you’re done in the shower, scrunch Nexus body building hair mousse and comb through with a fine toothed comb to spread the mousse through every hair strand. Blow dry with a diffuser.
Once your hair is dry, pin up all of your hair layers except for your bottom layer. Straighten the bottom layer and let down the next chunk of your hair and straighten. Repeat until all of your hair is straightened.
Smooth down with a hair gel if any hair is still standing up.

Tip- my hair is super thick, so sometime my hair isn’t straight the first time the hair straightener goes through. So I go through it three times- the first time the slowest, the second a little faster, and the last one the fastest.

curly hair tutorial

Soooo inspired by my last blog, I decided to make a curly hair blog tutorial! In this tutorial, I will use the names of my products, but you can use whatever produces you want and/or have.
Here is a list of things that you’ll need;

Shampoo/Conditioner (I like to use TESemme 24 hour body duo)
Mousse (I use TESemme flawless curls)
Hair spray (I am in love with TESemme finishing spray and TiGi ‘foxy curls’)
A blow dryer with a diffuser
A small barrel curling iron
Okay now here are the steps you need to take-
Wash hair
Scrunch two egg sized dollops of mousse through hair and then use a fine toothed comb to bush through your hair
Blow dry hair upside with a diffuser until 90% dry and let the rest air dry
Turn you curling iron to whatever temperature works best for your hair. My hair is super thick, so I have to turn it up as hot as it will go.
Take a small section of your hair and curl it AWAY from your face.
Hold for ten-twenty seconds depending on how tight you want you curls. I hold mine for ten seconds if I want waves and twenty if I want locks
Finish curling the rest of your hair
If you want soft waves, wait till you hair has cooled off before carefully playing with you hair with you fingertips. You cant finger comb it because your curls wont stick. And when you go to finger it, go for the top instead of the bottom because your curls wont stick if you do it that way either.
Spray your hair with the hairspray(s) and scrunch
I also plan to make a straight hair tutorial sometime so stay tuned!

makeup tutorial

So lately my friends have been asking me “how do you do your makeup?” so I decided to make a blog about it!

Face-
  • Start with a liquid foundation and apply all over your face with a thin coat. Make sure you blend the edges by you jaw and hairline so you don’t end up with a makeup line. When you buy your foundation, have the person at the counter match up your makeup with you skin tone.
  • Apply some bronzer all over blending at the jaw and hairline.
  • Over the bronzer, apply a thin layer of pressed powder. The press powder will make the bronzer look less Jersey Shore and more natural. The pressed powder should be the same tone as you liquid foundation. Apply past the jaw line to cover up a makeup line.
  • Take a light shade of bronzing powder and apply to cheeks and cheekbones. Rub in with finger tips to give your skin a light glow.
  • Finish with a light pink blush. Apply on cheekbones, not on cheeks to avoid looking like Grandma. Blend in with finger tips.
Eyes-
  • With a damp eye shadow applicator, apply a layer of the same pressed powder you used to you eyelids. This will help you eyes shadow stay on all day.
  • Using an eyelash curler, curl your lashes three different times. Once as close to the roots of your eyelashes as you can, clamp and curl, in the middle of you eyelashes, clamp and curl, and finally at the tips, clamp and curl. When you curl, hold for ten seconds.
  • Line eyes with a black eyeliner pencil as you want. As you go closer to the inner corner of you eyes, make you lines more narrow, and as you go out, make them more wide.
  • Outline your black eyeliner with a brown eyeliner, narrowing as you go in, widening as you go out.
  • Using a highlighting eye shadow brush, apply a light eye shadow to your brow bone and the inner corner of your eye. This will highlight you eye and brow.
  • Using a blending eye shadow blush, blend a “mid-toned” eye shadow from lash line to crease, blending the edges as you go.
  • Using a shading eye shadow brush, apply a dark or “deep” eye shadow on the outer 1/3 of your eye building the color and blending as you go.
  • Re-line your liner with a black cream liner, smudging it on the lower lid on the outer corner.
  • Use a thin liquid liner to wing your eyeliner. Start on the outer 1/3 of you eye, widening as you go out and as your eye ends, lift your brush slightly up to create a wing.
  • Taking your mascara wand,(I clean mine every once in a while to get out the dried mascara clumps that could affect the way I apply my mascara) and apply to the bases of you lashes and wiggle the wand.
  • Using a tissue, wipe of the excess mascara from the wand, (or just use a lash comb) and brush the mascara that you put on your base and comb it out to your tips to avoid clumping.
  • Apply a second coat. Use the wand to sweep from base to tip, but do it before the first coat dries, to avoid clumping.
Lips-
  • Exfoliate lips by taking a toothbrush, running it under hot water, and lightly brushing you lips for about one minute.
  • Apply a think coat of chap stick.
  • Add a small dap of “nude” lip gloss to you bottom lip and blend evenly by rubbing your lips together.
Have fun with your eye shadow! To make a statement, try matching it to your shirt color. Usually make that eye shadow the one that we use from lash line to crease.

Wishes

If you were granted three wishes, what would they be? I've been thinking about that a lot recently, and here is what I've decided: three wishes are totally not enough. And why three? That's such a random number! Why not five? That makes a lot more sense. Anyways I haven't counted how many wished I want, this is just what I would wish for:
  1. That my little siblings would listen to me. They think that just because I'm not their parent means that I have no authority.
  2. Wish that my mom would start acting like a Mom instead of like a teenager. Not that I have a problem with that, but she's kind of crazy, especially around my friends. It's not embarrassing or anything, it's just that it's kind of weird of thinking of her as a friend instead of a Mom.
  3. That I wouldn't be late to school every time we have a late start
  4. That when I grow up, I have two little girls names Rosalie Harper________ and Deidre Lynn _______.
  5. That I never have to go through a divorce.
  6. That my sister Amy has another baby soon. I want another little mini me!
  7. I wish my mom would drive more carefully so whenever I get in the car with her, I don't have to pray to God that I don't die.
  8. That I would grow to be happy and successful
  9. That I meet some of my favorite celebrities, five of them being my celeb crushes.
  10. That I don't die before the age of ninety.

The family! And other things

Okay, so I thought my Easter would be a little bit more eventful, buuuuuut I was horribly wrong. It was more boring than paid programming. So I won’t bore you with the details. One thing that was cool though was that my aunt (the artist, not the CSI) got two little ducks! They are sooo tiny but by the end of this month, they’ll be full grown. L It makes me sad that they don’t stay small. I wish all animals did. It seems like that’s when they’re at the cutest.
But next week Tuesday I have a band concert! So exited! I love getting up in front of people and performing/presenting. I love being the center of attention, probably because I grew up in a huge family. I guess I haven’t really told you about them:

Sisters: (oldest being number 1)
  1. Lynn
  2. Amy (in her early twenties)
  3. Catelynn (fifteen)
  4. Me!!!!!!!!(fourteen next month)
  5. Zoey (nine)
  6. Piper (five)

Brothers: (oldest being number 1)
1.      Steve (early twenties)
2.      Jon (nineteen)
3.      Riley (eight)
4.      Xavier (three)

As you can see, my family has their hands full, but at least some people have moved. Emily, Amy, Steve and Jon and the ones that have already moved out, and Catelynn lives with her mom, so we’re not terribly crowded and it’s always a lot of fun to see everyone on the holidays. I think the separation eliminates sibling rivalry and we can focus on just being happy when we’re all together instead of fighting.

My overview of the last few weeks

S’up blog readers?!

Well, it’s Thursday, but to the students at VMS, it’s Friday! We had some seriously screwed up weeks the last two weeks and also for the next week. We didn’t have school last Friday because it was the end of the quarter, so the teachers had an in-service day. Also that Thursday wasn’t a real school day for me and a few other students because we went to the Eau Claire University for National History Day Regionals.
We don’t have school tomorrow because it’s Good Friday, and we don’t have school on Monday because it’s Easter break. We also have a two hour later start that Friday. So yeah, I plan on catching up on the sleep that I have unintentionally deprived myself of. J
Another good thing that has happened, is that I’m done with PHY.ED! I like PHY.ED, but I like Health class much better! Mostly because of Mr. Ashlin! He is one of my many favorite teachers, because he always knows what to say when someone is having a bad day, or just how to make a day that much better. He takes the boringness out of school and instead turns it into something fun, that me and my friends all look forward to.
Another good thing that happened this week, was that last week, I had a trig test and I got an A+ on it! That was really unexpected. I’ve never gotten an A+ on a math test before. Ever. I got A’s and A-, but never an A+. It’s been a good few weeks. J
But one thing that happened today, was that I figured out how to make a play list on my Ipod, which consists of my favorite 17 songs. (1 being my most favorite)
  1. Space Bound- Eminem
  2. You don’t know-50 cent, Ca$his, Eminem, and Lloyd Banks. (I’m listening to it right now)
  3. Smack that- Akon featuring Eminem
  4. Beautiful- Eminem
  5. Not afraid- Eminem
  6. Wild ones- Flo Rida featuring Sia
  7. T.H.E (The Hardest Ever) Will.I.am. Jennifer Lopez and Mick Jagger
  8. Turn me on- David Guetta and Nicki Minaj
  9. Glad you came- The Wanted
  10. International Love- Pitbull and Chris Brown
  11. Rumour has it- Adele
  12. Set Fire to the Rain- Adele
  13. Young, wild, and free- Wiz Khalifia, Snoop Dogg and Bruno Mars
  14. Sexy and I know it- LMFAO
  15. Stronger(What doesn’t kill you)- Kelly Clarkson
  16. Boyfriend- Justin Bieber(although I’m personally not a fan, I really like this song. But only the chorus. I hate everything else)
  17. We are young- Fun featuring Janelle Monae(again, I hate everything about this song, other than the chorus. I can be kind of picky about my music.)

But I’m sure that you guys know that it’s Easter weekend this weekend, and I plan on sharing my Easter with you via blog. I’m celebrating it several times. And I kind of already did. Sorta. I got some early Easter….gifts??? Is that the right word? It must be. So that’s what y’all should be expecting for the next few days.
Quote- As a child, my families menu consisted of two things; take it or leave it- Buddy Hackett
Song- You don’t know- 50 cent, Ca$his, Eminem, and Lloyd Banks.
Word- break
Celeb- Pauley Perrette (she’s from NCIS. Even though I’ve been having an awesome week, she isn’t. Her ex-husband just got arrested for violating her restraining order against him L .)
Device- ok, you guys, I thought that this would be easier to do, but it’s actually kind of hard. I’m done with the device of the day because I run out of ideas pretty fast. I know, I‘m such a quitter. I’ll try to think of a new category, and if you guys have an idea, please post a comment.

Talking just to talk!

So in my last blog you learned that I have a new celeb crush! Oh and also, if Ghost Adventures sounds like something that you want to check out, it's on the Travel Channel, Friday and Saturday from 7 to 9 on Friday and 7 to 11 on Saturday.
Other than that.... yesterday was my niece's birthday! Savannah May Shuets is now three years old! My super good friends know that on my trapper in the top left corner, there's a picture of her when she was about two and a half. She looks just like her daddy, but acts like her aunt AJ! (that's me for those of you who dont know that that's what my family calls me.) Her parents are going to have their hands full! I cant wait to take her shopping and have her spend the night when I get my own place! I had the best aunt ever (the CSI) and she has left the best influence on me and because of her, it has been my dream for a long time to be an aunt and my wish was granted three years ago yesterday! I plan on getting a tattoo on the back of my neck of her name, "Savannah May" My brother Jon, her uncle (well duh Lex,) has that same tattoo on his arm.

Ghosts and....stuff

Today, I want to talk about the paranormal! Lately I’ve been obsessive and for two reasons;
  1. I literally stumbled across this show last Friday March 23 called “Ghost Adventures” and one of the main paranormal investigators on the show, Zak Bagans, is super hawt! (so now we can say that I have five celebrity crushes instead of fourJ )
  2. It’s CREEPY! (paranormal studies, not the show, although I almost peed watching one of the episodes and I can honestly say that it wasn’t because I was laughing)There for, it was a given that I’m was going to be attracted to it.
I don’t know what my genetic problem is, (I know that it’s genetic because my mom has the exact same issue goin’ on for her. BTW I love this song! Just had to get that out there. It’s Sweet Dreams by Beyonce. Check it out! I promise that it'll make you dance!) but for some reason, I’m naturally attracted to creepy things. (This is probably why I want to study criminal behavior and intent.)
It’s hard to say what it is about creepy things that I’m so drawn to. Maybe its not the creepy things themselves, but…. wow I really don’t know how to word this. Maybe… proving that there is an afterlife, somewhere between Earth and religious beliefs. Or maybe it’s just the thrill of investigating.
If you know me well enough, than you probably know that the hunger of investigation has flowed from one generation to the next in my family, and it was only a short matter of time before I would join the ranks. Actually I already have, as you can see in the first real paragraph when I mention my future career interests.
There’s some sort of thrill I get from watching “Ghost Adventures”, and I’m positive that a good majority of it isn’t because of Zak J (Don't you LOVE how he spells his name? It really matches his look. I always wanted an emo boyfriend....). The EVP sessions make me shake uncontrollably. Disembodied voices run through my head long after the show has ended, and my brain is just completely whipped at the unexplained noises and moved objects.
I do understand that there is a chance that this show is completely staged, but I do believe in ghosts, and some members of my family have had there own experiences. When ever my siblings and I beg them to relive it with us, you can see the truth and emotion in their eyes as they describe their varying levels of hysteria and emotional shock. All through their story-telling, their spines maintain a stiff ridge, almost as if their bodies were reenacting the momentary paralyzing sensation that they all seemed to have experienced in their own ghost adventures. I personally have not had an experience with a ghost, and if I ever do, I hope that I'm not alone, and that it's not emtionaly scaring.
The only problem is, I don’t know if I can emotionally handle being locked inside a haunted building with a past as dark as my sense of humor, while being possibly split up from the rest of the investigating team, with no lights. There for, don’t think I can seriously consider this as a field I could be capable to remain some what mentally calm, instead of dissolving into hysteria, to work in one day. But as long as I have Zak there to hold my hand, it shouldn't be a problem ;D
