My Favorite YouTubers (Guys Version)

Guys-
  • MattG
  • Nathan Owens
  • Destery Moore
  • Blake Bliss
  • Shane Dawson
  • Damon Fizzy
  •  Joey Graceffa
  • Vincent Cyr
  • Christian Novelli
  • Connor Franta
  • JC Caylen
  • Ricky Dillon
  • Kingsley
So the guys mean a little more to me than the girls. For Bebe and Cassandra, I only watch their videos for hair/makeup tutorials. For Christina, it's just for her music. I follow Leda to get hair ideas for the next time I plan on coloring my hair. And Jenna, well....who WOULDN'T subscribe to her?
So lets start with MattG, Nathan Owens, Destery Moore, Blake Bliss, Shane Dawson and Damon
Fizzy;
MattG
Nathan Owens
Destery Moore
Blake Bliss (pretty much saved my life. I'll get more into it later)
Shane Dawson
Damon Fizzy

Okay so starting with the above six people, this is how I came to discover/love them.
So in a previous post I told you about that Senior that I liked that asked that Junior to prom. I know that it doesn't sound like that big of a deal but to be straight up honest with you guys; it broke my heart. It pretty much killed me. I felt like I had gotten back-doored. I mean, he wasn't even mine but it was one of the most painful things I think I've ever went through. So I went home that day, went to my bathroom, and got in the shower. The shower is the only acceptable place for me to cry. After I had finished crying, I sat down on the couch in my bedroom and basically just shut down. My friend Emily was pretty quick at finding out what had happened and texted me minutes later. She eventually suggested that I look up some video's by MattG, who I had not heard of once, despite all the Leda videos I watched. I stayed up all night, laughing until I cried. As I continued to watch MattG videos, I stumbled across some collabs and found Destery Moore. And once I found Destery Moore, I found Nathan Owens. From him, I found Blake. Blake's videos weren't that funny, but they clicked with me really well on an emotional level and played probably the largest part in my healing process. I had watched Shane Dawson videos back in the seventh grade but I had unexpectedly just stopped. When I watched Destery's collab with Shane, I went to his channel and started watching his videos regularly again. And through Shane, I found Damon. Not only are his videos EXTREMELY funny, some of the more serious ones really helped me along with getting over my little situation. So a huge thanks to these guys :) without you, I'd still be hurting.

Ok next group of guys;

Joey Graceffa. (before you say anything; he's gay. I know. It's heart breaking.)
Vincent Cyr
Christian Novelli

So here's the second group of people. Now before I had found these people, I was pretty much over my heart break. But I still had to go to my classes and deal with these two people. And even though the Senior and the Junior's relationship or whatever the hell they had was basically ended after their date, and he went back to giving me shy glances and awkward half smiles, but I wanted him to know that I was hurt. That he couldn't just push me aside and only use me when he wanted to. So I ignored him. You guys have no idea how hard this was for me. I needed YouTube videos to help me stay strong and let him know that he had killed me. But it seemed like they weren't making videos fast enough to hold me over. So I turned over to Joey Graceffa who I had seen before on some Shane videos, Vincent Cyr from a MattG video, and Christian Novelli, who I stumbled upon by complete chance. They helped me remain strong and helped me hold my ground ^_^  Thanks, you guys :)

And now the third and final Group-
Connor Franta
JC Caylen
And Ricky Dillon!

One day, while I was sick, I just kinda stumbled across Connor by chance and when I found him, I found JC and Ricky pretty damn fast. Connor and JC are pretty funny, but I have come dangerously close to pissing my pants from watching one of Ricky's videos. I went back and forth between these three youtubers until I was over being sick (which took 3 days :p) . So thanks for that, guys :)

Kingsley

I actually have pissed my pants from watching one of Kingsley's videos. He just makes everything so much better. He's the gay/male/black version of Jenna Marbles

So that's why I could never ever part with any of these Youtubers. Ever.

My Favorite YouTubers (Girl's Version)

Girls-
  • Leda Monster Bunny
  • Cassandra Bankson
  • Christina Grimmie
  • Bebexo
  • Jenna Marbles
...does the fact that I only have five girls listed as my favorite youtubers make me a misogynist???? Hopefully not 0_o

Leda Monster Bunny. Isn't she pwitty? ^_^ I'm so jelly...

Cassandra Bankson. Her makeup tutorials are the best one's I've found on YouTube
Christina Grimmie. Her voice give me chills ^_^
Bebexo. Her hair tutorials are pretty awesome but my hair won't cooperate with me so I can't do them :p

Jenna Marbles! Her videos are pretty funny :)
So check them out and later I'll post a guys edition :) I'll probably have more to say about the guys (for LOTS of reasons)

Back to school Locker Check List

I know it's only July, but it's good to have a list of things to go shopping for before your school (if you're still in Middle School or High School) hosts it's Open House. This is a list of what I usually looked to put in my locker that helped me look fresh all day!
For your locker:
  • A magnetic mirror
  • Roller ball perfume
  • Mascara (in other words; next time you go makeup shopping, get two mascaras instead of one)
  • a brush for straight hair days
  • Hairspray for curly/wavy hair days
  • Bobby pins (just in case)
  • Pictures that make you happy! (I know I said that the things in your locker would keep you looking 'fresh' . Pictures won't make you look 'fresh' but if they make you super happy, you'll smile when you see them. When you smile, your face will light up, your eyes will sparkle, and your cheeks will adapt a subtle flush.)
  • Liquid eyeliner for quick touch-ups

For your bag:

  • Lipstick/balm/gloss
  • Travel size lotion

Tips for protecting you skin from the sun

I figured since it's summer, this post would be a good idea.
  • Whenever possible, stay out of the sun for long periods of time. The best time to stay out of the sun would be between 10-2 o'clock when rays are at their strongest.
  • Protect your skin year round with SPF. Even in the winter. Most people think that when someone says 'wear SPF year round' that means that you constantly have to wear sunscreen. No. Just no. Instead, look for moisturizers/foundation/face and-or body lotion that have SPF mixed in them.
  • Avoid tanning beds. Just stay away from them.
  • Wear sunglasses, because most SPF (that isn't in a moisturizer/foundation/lotion) is too harsh on the sensitive skin around the eye.
  • When shopping for sunscreen, make sure you find one that fights agains both UVA AND UVB rays. Not one or the other.
  • When applying sunscreen, you should always apply liberally.
  • If you're in sports or if you swim, look for water/sweat proof sunscreen.
  • If you have a job that requires you to constantly be outside, please, please, PLEASE, reapply your SPF regularly.
  • UVA rays can be reflected from all light surfaces. And I mean ALL light surfaces; water, sand, snow, ice and even concrete. Just keep that in mind the next time you think you don't need sunscreen.
  • I shouldn't need to tell you this, but after reading some YouTube comments, I realized how dumb some people are. So I'm going to say it anyways- infants who are under six months should not be wearing sunscreen. They should be covered up and out of the sun.
  • If you have sensitive skin-use a cream based product and avoid sunscreen with tretinion or; Retin-A, Stieva-A, Restisol-A, Rejuva-A, Renova, or Vitamin A acid. (it'll dry your skin out)
  • If you have any allergies to skin products, look for sunscreens that are fragrance free and hypoallergenic
  • Use two tablespoons of sunscreen to cover yourself from head to toe. If you can't fathom how much two tablespoons equals, it's the equivalent of a shot glass. Don't judge me for making that analogy.

Repairing Hair Mask

This is probably going to be one of my more gross tutorials. The reason being is that you first need to go three days without washing your hair. So I'd suggest doing this during Spring break/ Summer/ Christmas/ Thanksgiving vacation. I'd also suggest keeping your hair tied back off of your face so that the oils in your hair don't get on your face and cause you to break out.

the mixture-
  • one egg
  • extra virgin olive oil (the amount will vary depending on the length of your hair. I basically just eye ball it.)
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • some milk (I don't measure this one, either.)
  • 2 tablespoon of coconut oil
So after you let your hair go unwashed for three days, mix the above ingredients as best as possible. It may take awhile to melt the coconut oil, unless you bought it pre-liquefied. Than you're gonna put in the microwave for a minute. The reason you heat it up, is so that it gets to the shaft of your hair easier and repairs your hair faster. Apply to your hair using your hands and when you get most of it in your hair, flip your head upside down and pour the rest over your bottom hair line. Tie/clip your hair back, and wrap your head in a towel. Let it sit for an hour and wash it out with your regular shampoo/conditioner.

So the reason why your letting your hair get gross and greasy, is because it's producing the most important ingredient of the mask- natural hair oils. This will mix with the mask and help repair damage caused by heat and bleaching/coloring your hair. I'd also follow this with a face mask just incase you did get hair oil on your face.

Tips to survive high school! :)

  1. Don't be desperate. Don't throw yourself at any guy who seems mildly interested. You're just going to get unpleasant nicknames, people will talk behind you back, and no one will be comfortable with leaving their boyfriend with you.
  2. Guys are going to flirt with you. That's just how they are naturally programmed. But I can honestly tell you, chances are the guy isn't really into you. If he really was, he wouldn't spend a ton of time flirting. At one point or another, he'll ask you out if he really likes you.
  3. Scary enough, guys who have girlfriends still may flirt with you. Again, don't take it seriously. But this is the part that's scary; he may start to have feelings for you even though he has a girlfriend. Get. Away. From. Him. I know you may start to have feelings for this guy, but if he's willing to cheat on his girlfriend with you, than what's going to stop him for cheating on you with another girl when you two are dating?
  4. Don't care about what other people think. Many of those people aren't going to remember the embarrassing things that you say and do once they (or you if 'they' are younger than you) graduate, so don't stress over it.
  5. Go for extra-curriculars. Not only do they look awesome on college applications, but it's a great way to find people who enjoy the same things that you do. My favorites were band and make-up crew.
  6. Do what makes you happy. I joined make-up crew in October/November and I was the only freshman. And out of all the girls that were there, I only knew three of them pretty well. But I love make-up so I enjoyed it!
  7. Go to Friday night (or any weeknight) sporting events. They're full of energy and lots of crazy, hilarious, and unforgettable things are going to happen. It's a good way to bond with friends or it could also be a great first date.
  8. Believe it or not, it's going to go by FAST. I look back at the beginning of my freshman year, and it seems SOOOOO distant. (I would give anything to get it back to be honest.) So take LOTS of pictures and videos. Don't take a single second for granted.
  9. Put yourself out there, where ever 'there' is. Don't be scared of the upper-classmen. They were freshman once and are going to be understanding.
  10. Don't do anything stupid. No drugs, no alcohol, no sleeping around. I shouldn't have to explain to you why this is bad.
  11. I know that some people feel the pressure to fit in. Sleeping around is NOT the way to go around this. You WILL find other ways to get acceptance.
  12. Don't flip over finals. I know I did, but I was just scared because it was the first time doing my finals. They really actually aren't that scary. Just make sure you get their on time to take them.
  13. Go to parties. Not crazy drug/alcohol parties. Stay away from those like your life depends on it. You never know. Your life really could depend on it. I mean go to small parties that are going to be tame. Usually a group of friends going out to eat and to a movie or just to a friends house for a holiday party. Or if you're like me and you have a bunch of friends who are seniors, graduation parties.
  14. Don't not do your homework. If you actually do your homework and you get good grades, you're going to have an easier time in high school because you won't have the stress to get your grades up and your late homework in. It's going to alleviate problems and stress and it'll keep your parents and teachers off your back. I'm not saying you have to be an A+ student, just don't be failing your classes.
  15. Go to dances that allow all grades/ages. They're a great way to have fun and express yourself! It's dark and no one can see how embarrassing your dance moves are ;)
  16. If at all possible, don't take ANY study halls. I can understand why you would want/need one, but if you don't take study halls you can get all your credits faster which means senior year, you won't need to take all core classes. Obviously you'll have to take English, but that might be about it. (Personally, I'm going to have to take all core classes though. Well, not core classes, but they're not executives either. They're gonna be AP)
  17. Take four years of Spanish. Most colleges require two years, but sooner or later they're going to start requiring three years of Spanish. We don't really have an idea as to when this is going to happen, so stay safe and take at least three years. But you should really take four years just to give you that little edge when colleges go through their applications.

I really hope that this is going to help you guys. The first year of High School is different for everyone, but you only get one shot to make it worth it. Don't mess it up. Get ready to have the best four years of your life :)
